 The
Grup Excursionista i Esportiu Gironí,
the Girona Excursion and Sporting Group, (GEiEG) was founded in 1919
with the objective of promoting sports and culture, activities which
provide the means for physical and human training, as well as social
relationships The Group, as it is more popularly known, has a wide
range of facilities which places it among the leading clubs in the
country. For a modest fee, members can enjoy the use of swimming pools
(outdoor and indoor), tennis courts, gyms with equipment for weight
training, cardiovascular exercises, and aerobics and fitness, an athletics
stadium, jogging circuits, a natural turf rugby and 7-a-side football
field, a pavilion and indoor sports courts, squash courts and many
other services, with all that is needed to take up and enjoy a wide
range of sporting and cultural activities. The Group combines competitive
sport (the club is a leading national figure in various disciplines)
with social and non-competitive sporting activities. We also promote
and organise a large number of socio-cultural activities which are
open to the general public. The Group reflects the society of Girona
- dynamic, modern and enterprising. |
