INTRODUCTION |

The socio-cultural committee of the Group
ensures that the association has a cultural component, and that it
maintains the traditional events of the association. The GEiEG organises
cultural events such as the Midnight Mass, la The pedal festival, l'Aplec
or Reunion of the Group, or the Sardana Dancing Competition the "Concurs
de Colles Sardanistes"; and others such as "Lleuresport" (a children
and young people's Christmas holiday free time activity) or "Aquasport"
(a day of water-based activities).
At present the traditional dancing section of the sardanes and the
choir make up the cultural majority of the association. Although there
have also been sections dedicated to activities such as theatre, photography
and painting.
The latest project undertaken by the group, in cultural terms, has
been the co-sponsoring of the International Theatre Festival of Girona
(El Festival Internacional de Teatre de Girona), "High season",
an important event at which association members can enjoy advantages
on the purchase of tickets.
